that false grass never comes up as a potential substrate, and i think the reason for that is that it fails to serve the purpose of a substrate.
a substrate needs to absorb, and should inhibit bacteria from building up. i have no idea how you could clean the fake grass, and how it could absorb pee.
people use aspen shavings or coconut fiber or unprinted newspaper, and for snakes that are sick or injured people switch to paper towels.
betadine is good stuff, its used on humans for cleaning/disinfecting wounds and for treating infected wounds and in surgery and to treat a variety of skin conditions. diluted betadine baths are good to treat wounds or scale rot, so whatever it is, diluted betadine baths should help. you can also put the betadine on a cotton swab and treat the affected area directly, like you would use it when a person has an open injury or a burn.
