A tstat is the most important thing you are going to buy. Do not get cheap. Herpstat is what I use. I have a 1, 2, and 4. I have never had an issue with them. The intro is only $100 so I would get that and a $8 tub until you can get a nice pvc cage.

Well I said "great cheap thermostat". If your going to quote, you can't take half. From her original post it appeared that she was on a very tight budget. For $20 it is the best option. I've had that exact thermostat on one of my racks for over 4 years and the temps have remained perfect. I agree with what your saying, I was just giving my opinion based on what I read. My advice would be to get an ARS rack with a herpstat 4 and start filling it with Banana pins and GHI's. Now in her posts she is looking at Super pastels and $100+ tstats so I guess the budget just got bigger.
