Instead I control them by keeping them on lamp stands. Being my house is a steady temp I just raise or lower them to give the desired temps. I have done this for years. Once you get them dialed in they don't need adjusting unless you change the room temp.
My room where im keeping them is about a steady 70, i think I'm going too need a light too give me some higher ambient temps, my tank is the same size as the standard cb70 adult tubs (35 18) and is 12 inches high, my bulb is a 100 WATT infrared spot bulb, I assume that would get too hot if I left it on freely right ?
