Big and healthy first clutch

Some of you will remember this girl from when I got her in 2011

She was paired with my awesome 2012 Hypo

And two days ago she laid this awesome 8 egger! Zero slugs. All candled great and are in the bator!



Hopefully this clutch will turn out better than my first 2014 clutch which all went bad I am hoping for a pair of sables out of this clutch.

Carpet works great. It is super easy to clean but you have to clean it every time the snake eliminates. It is easy to tell when the snake goes because the bin gets condensate on the front. When the snake makes a mess, I just remove the entire piece of carpet, shake out the big chunks and throw it into a bucket. Then I wipe the bin down and put a fresh piece of carpet inside. When the bucket gets full, I wash them in the washing machine with my dogs bedding. Easy breezy. I have been using carpet for 4 years and never had a single issue. Initially I tried paper towels and the snakes bunched them all up in the corner. Next I tried newspaper and that stained everything including my snakes. Next I tried aspen which made a huge mess on the floor in front of the rack every time I did anything inside the bin. I was unwilling to try something like mulch or dirt (cocoa husk) because that is just too dirty for my taste. If I were making a display tank, I would go with some sort of dried leaf/mulch/dirt mixture. However, in a rack system cleaner = better so I went with the carpet. I buy a large piece of the cheapest indoor outdoor carpet on a big roll that Lowes sells and cut a bunch to bin size. I use the same stuff to reupholster my cat tree. Cheap, easy, and clean.
