Please help with my new BP~

That was my concern as well. I wanted to feed in separate tank to reduce the chance of her biting my daughters when they take her out of her tank. I may be wrong but it's what I do. I let her eat and wait about 25 minutes and then return her to get tank right away. No handling just pickup and put down.

Since I feed live, I feed all my snakes in a seperate container outside the cage and never had a snake bite me or regurgitate their food. My snakes don't get into strike mode until I put them into the container. Then, they know their meal is coming.

With live feedings, I have more control in case the mouse or the rat bites my snake during constriction. Also, mice and rats poop a whole lot in a small amout of time. I don't want that all over my terrarium.

You can either feed in the terrarium or in a seperate contanier. It's really up to you. I wish people would calm down with their opinions in this subject... In my experience, all 5 of my BPs eat well in seperate containers without getting "stressed out". BPs aren't as fragile as people think.

I feed in the same enclosure she lives in just for the simple fact of having to move a full snake and risk regurgitation! You don't want that to happen. It STINKS! Not to mention it's rough on the snake.
You said "dirt"? What kind of substrate are you using?

I said 'dird' because I couldn't think of a word to describe the substrate lol. Sorry for my bad English

Most people who feed outside of the tank have a spare bin with a lid, or tank with bare floor. I just use newspaper in my snakes cages, no worries, easy cleanup. Some people feel like they should remove cage items such as bowl and hide but I dont. Depens on how much your snakes like to roll around with its prey I guess. Putting the bowl and hide back in can be alot easier than catching a snake and putting back in cage while hoping he doesnt throw up. You just got your snake so its really up to your better judgement. Btw what are you using as substrate?

1. The breeder has nothing to do with how calm and docile your snake is.
2. Let him chill for a bit longer. He may still be stressed out from the move, and change in environment.
3. A mouse pinky is way too small.
4. There's no need to contact a vet.
5. What was the breeder feeding him?

Also just know BPs can be the biggest PITAS in the world for no apparent reason when it comes to eating.

Ball python not eating... there's a FEW clubs for that
Search some more threads on this forum about tips to get yours to eat. There's SO many great ideas floating around out there. Ball pythons are great as "starter" snakes, except for this little thing they do where they sometimes don't eat because they can be picky... or nervous... or horny. The list goes on!

You gotta calm down first, your over reacting. The fact that it struck is a good sign. Many ball pythons after missing might get frustrated and no longer want to eat. I would just try again next feeding day.
