    name confusion

just been seeing different names for what I thought was the same morph, so wanted some clarification... is a killerblast (super pastel x lemonblast)and superblast the same thing, or are those two diff combos? also whats added in to a queenbee that makes it diff from a killerbee?

A super blast and killer blast are the same thing (super pastel pinstripe). A queen bee is a pastel, butter/lesser, spider whereas a killer bee is a super pastel spider. Hope I helped.

    Killer Bee = http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/killer-bee/

    Queen Bee = http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/queen-bee/

Look at the genetics column down the left hand side of that page. It tells you what genes go into making that particular morph. They are different, some very slight.

Depends who you talk to. before a couple years ago, Both WoBP and NERDs websites claimed super blast was a super pastel pinstripe and killer blast was a super pastel spider pinstripe and both websites also claimed BHB was the first to produce both.

Then all of a sudden, WoBP changed their story and said killer blast was a super pastel pin and killer spinner was a super pastel spider pinstripe and also changed it to say NERD was the first to make both, even while NERDs own site said the other names and gave the claim to BHB. NERDs site has been redone since then tho.

X2. If you put super pastel and lesser to Spider, you get a killer Queen bee. I actually went to a show the other day and there were 2 Killer Queen bees. One was labeled super Queen Bee, and the other was labeled lesser killer bee. this just causes confusion, they're all the same snake.

if you want confusion, consider the pastel mojave pinstripe.

pastel mojave = pastave. pinstripe mojave = jigsaw. pinstripe pastel = lemonblast.

so possible names are: pastave pin, jigsaw blast, and mojave lemonblast. . add enchi, and you could call it a mochi lemonblast, or enchi jigsaw blast.

all becomes clear when you list the genes that are in it.

okay thats what I was thinking.... so would a super pastel x lemonblast be any different than a super pastel x pinstripe? or would they both produce a killerblast

thats not how it works. if you pair super pastel and lemonblast, you get 25% pastels, 25% super pastels, 25% lemonblasts, 25% killer blasts.

and if you breed super pastel to pinstripe, you get 50% pastel and 50% lemonblast.

to make anything that contains super pastel, both parents need at least one copy of the pastel gene. so you could breed lemonblast to pastel, and get 12,5% normals, 25% pastels, 12,5% super pastels, 12,5% pinstripes, 25% lemon blasts, 12,5% killer blasts.

the genes dont just get added together (as in: pastel to pinstripe produces lemon blasts), but there is always recombination going on and it follows statistics. (as in: pastel to pinstripe gives you 25% normals, 25% pastels, 25% pinstripes, 25% lemon blasts).

okay thanks that makes more sense.. I am a biology grad so I do understand the common genetic ratios, I just need to learn what desinger morphs are dominant, co dom, or recessive
