Finding potential breeders?

I am not sure if this is allowed on this forum, I don't recall seeing a post like this.

I would like to get in contact with someone around my area in regards to breeding possibly next season or the season after. I know I could buy a female and breed it with mine, but at this stage I am not sure I have the facilities or the knowledge of breeding to take this on myself. I would like to learn from someone and hopefully get a single juvanile python. Preferably I would like either a Pastel or a Pinstripe, as I am looking to breed up to a Lemon Blast in the future.

Mods, if this post is not allowed then by all means remove it. To anyone who is in the region of me (West London, Easy Surrey) and is interested in talking about possibly breeding then leave a post here. I aslo have a small website set up but I am not going to post it on here. If you would like to see it then PM me.

Someone had made a post in the Business Talk section looking for an experienced breeder to assist (I think they were in Texas in this example). So your post shouldn't be inappropriate or qualify for removing.

As for finding someone, it may be difficult to find someone in the UK here (although possible). You might want to also check out the Reptile UK forums. There are a number of folks there in the UK community that may be able to assist as well, if you don't already post there.

I have seen a few posts from the Reptile UK forums, I haven't signed up to them for some reason! I have seen a few members here from around London, or the areas surrounding it. I know it was a shot in the dark, especially as clutches are now being born and such.

I'd love to get a young BP, I got mine when he was 3 y/o so he is already a big lad, I want to experiance having one from birth and caring for it. Especially a Lemon Blast, I have loved them for a long time!

when it comes to information and answers to specific questions, this forum is really good. and on youtube there are plenty of videos where smaller and larger breeders show and explain their facility and how they do things.

you can always start small. when you start with one male and two females, you need 3 enclosures for adults, a small incubator, and a rack system with small enclosures for the hatchlings.

I will end up getting a rack system, with my (hopefully) Pastel and Pinstripe, with the babies in the lower portions. The whole though of this is really exciting haha!

Completely understandable and laudable, in fact. While reading and watching videos is a great way to learn, there's nothing like hands-on experience under the eye of someone more experienced who is willing to help.

Try Facebook to see if there are any local reptile or ball python forums for your area to see if a breeder is looking for an apprentice, because that sounds like what you're asking for.

Thank you, I have already contacted my local reptile shop asking them if they have any females that they would be willing to breed. I am in there quite often, so they know my intentions
