Either way he is a nice ringer. I think everyone should have a good ringer in their collection. Good luck!

I've read somewhere that ringers are very low white pieds, so that snake may be a 5% white pied...

But even very low white Pieds have the aberrant Pied pattern in the colored areas of their body.

Where'd you read that? I think that's innacurate.

OP- I would say that's a het pied.

As far as everything else goes, no - het pied markers are not reliable. That being said, if I were to choose a 50% pied based on they way they look, and this boy was in the bunch, I'd buy him.

Even if he didn't prove out, he's still cool looking.

    I respectfully disagree.
They aren't reliable, but you'd pick him out to buy? So you'd be relying on those markers as to what you're basing your choice on...

    Re: Het pied?

What stood out the most to me was that the white of the ring is visible all the way under the belly.

Mike, what I meant is, there is no 100% accurate het pied marker. But that doesn't mean all other thing being considered, you can't use the presence of certain traits to up the odds. At least, you hope they will.

So in the example I used. If I were to look at a clutch of normals labeled as 50% het pieds, and there were six snakes that looked like pretty much every other normal, and this one snake, if I were to choose one with the hope it would be 50% het, it would be this one.
