Ah, people have some really cute ratties and I must admit, I wasn't a fan of these guys when I got my first breeding group but they have really grown on me.

Mom Snowcap and her son, Domino.

And Domino about four or five months later!

Snowcap nursing a litter. It's hard work.

    Baby learning about finger foods.

Snowcap is really into moving her babies around.

Another one of my females, Taffy. She's a sweetheart.

Pearl, Diamond, and their mom, Lily.

The headhoncho of the colony, Silver.

And some new girls I decided to buy recently, partially on a whim. Sisters, Buttercup and Blossom.

    And their half sister, Bubbles.

The only genes I'm really working with right now are blue and mink but I really want to get an apricot or chocolate too.

I've found that breeding animals with large amount of white together (for example, CappedxCapped) can result in nearly completely white rats with black eyes. I produced my girl Diamond by doing that and she is almost a perfect BEW minus a few colour hairs on her head. I'm not certain if that's the way people generally do it but it's certainly a viable approach.

Thank you. If you are ever in NorCal or the Central Valley, hit me up.

    Essentially what Kyte said.

That is exactly how its done. Selectively breeding patched or capped can get you a BEW.
BEWs are essentially just low expression capped and patched rats.

    I would love to!

Sadly I live so far south I'm 2 hours from Mexico.

My boyfriend wants to go up to the top of northern california to see the redwoods at some point, maybe I can convince him to take a detour on the way back
    Idk if/when that's happening though...
