    Purple Passion or Mystic Potion?

Hey guys, my female mojave is pretty close to breeding size and I can't decide if I should go with a mystic or a phantom. From what I've seen so far, mystic potion tend to have less pattern than purple passion BUT purple passion are usually "more" purple than mystic potion. Argh. I want a reduced pattern purple ball python.

    Thoughts?

I've never seen a purple ball python. Or at least what I would consider purple. I would be interested in seeing one.

Mystic and phantom are really the same thing, just two different lines. Overall I think phantoms are a bit nicer, but a crappy phantom is worse then a nice mystic and vice versa. I would just go with whatever you can find that you think is the best example of the gene, regardless of if its called mystic or phantom

I have the RDR phantom line, this passion was the darkest purple passion that I produced so far. also no pattern. I also photo it with another passion so you can see the difference in the 2. the 2nd pic was after a shed or 2 and the sides lighten some.

but then, i have seen patternless mystic potions as well as patternless purple passions. for example, Brian Gundy discovered and isolated the "goldblush" gene, after it popped up in his mojave project, and with goldblush mojave he also got completely patternless mystic potions.

considering how similar super mystics and super phantoms look, i really think its the same morph. i dont think that you can be able to tell it apart after you breed mystic to phantom.

so ill give the same advice i also give when people ask about sugar/calico or banana/coral glow or lesser/butter: search for both, and buy the best you can find, and it doesnt matter if its mystic or phantom. just look for both, and buy what appeals the most to you.

Very pretty, but do they keep those colors as adults?

the purple generally doesnt stay (just like with banana), but the brightness and the whites and the light greys and silvery greys and the washed-out colors stay for life. they age really very nicely.
