    Sometimes I notice this, then I look in the bin and the probe got moved off the hotspot and was no longer right against the plastic like it should be, it tends to get pulled a around a little with the sliding in and out of the tub. Is the dimmer as high as it can go? Also as long as theres something regulating the heat so it foesnt get to hot u don't need the tape as a barrier, but I dont think it hurts any.
