    Excited Rat Parent

One of my rats, affectionately referred to as Generic Rat Breeder 2 (GRB2 for short) is having her first litter as I type this! I know that the babies are only being used as food, but it's still an exciting time! Thought I'd share it with you all.

Ended up with 10 apparently healthy babies. Mama rat is taking to her motherly duties with no issues. Pretty sure these squeak louder than my other rat's first litter.

I'll second this. I recently started breeding rats and have been amazed at how friendly and loving they are. I'm giving a few female babies to a friend because she liked them so much and wanted some of her own as pets.
