We bought a keurig for my son for Christmas, and while I like a lot of the flavored drinks, hot chocolates and fruit tisanes, I haven't found a coffee k-cup that I like as much as freshly ground beans brewed in my Mr Coffee stainless steel drip coffee maker. Maybe I just haven't found the right one yet.

I like thick cuban coffee the best, but at work I survive on black coffee by the gallon.
I also have a keurig but I mainly use that to make tea/hot water.
I work with a guy who has all that stuff and he drinks coffee around the clock. I would consider him an addict and/or afficionado. So maybe you could be that as well.

MarkS- Just saw the aeropress in a demo online today. Looks interesting, but I would probably want one that would do a larger cup of coffee... Will look into it though.
I've been considering looking for another brewing method similar to a french press, but with easier cleanup, so the aeropress might be a solution, or a pour-over method.
I may also be looking into a new burr grinder to use instead of my hand grinder.. Trying to get a more consistent grind.

Best coffee I ever had....Senor Sweets....in Cabo San Lucas....stuff was black as night and tasted amazing! I drank about 3 cups with some gelato at 9pm and didn't get to bed until 3. Good stuff.

The thing with the aeropress is that it doesn't actually make an espresso (they say it does, but it's not really an espresso), it's more of a coffe concentrate. Then after pressing I just add enough hot water to make it a regular cup of coffee.
I'll add enough ground coffee to what their directions say for 2 cups, then after brewing and pressing I'll add enough hot water to fill a 16 oz cup and it seems to be about the right strength for me.
Remember that around the rest of the world a 'cup' of coffee is about 6 oz, only in the US does a cup of coffee equate to a 25 oz travel mug.
Oh, and burr grinders are definately the way to go, those grinders with the whirling blades will basically turn your beans into chunks of various sizes and dust so it's impossible to get an even grind with them.

Heh.. True. I'm drinking out of a 16oz starbucks "grande" mug right now.
I'll keep that in mind about adding hot water to the aeropress coffee. It might be a good solution if it works well... It would be faster than the french press at least.

I have a keurig and I enjoy it. I've found my favorites are an offbrand that makes caramel and french vanilla lattes. I want to say its western family? I find them at winch for like 5 dollars for a 16 pack. Im one of those coffee people who loves cafe coffee and special drinks and its nice to make something similar at home
And I feel like im the one person in the PNW who says this, but im not a big fan of dutch bros at all. Their coffee is ok when I'm in a jam and don't have other options but its very bitter- I usually get white mochas with two shots of caramel and still not sweet enough

You're not alone! I don't like Dutch Bros. either. I can drink it if it's what someone else is paying for, but it would never be my first choice.

For real? I think there may be more of them in Oregon than WA but we have three or four of them just in the TriCities. There are a lot of them, maybe just not in your area? I don't think I see them when I go to Seattle. Aren't you around there?
