Is this enough room for air or am I covering too much?

Thanks for the idea. I've wanted to get some plexiglass for it but I don't know how exactly to go about it. Just measure the area of the top and go into a store and ask? I think I read Home Depot somewhere but not positive.

Over thinking
Cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside the frame of the screen, cover it in aluminum foil and use foil tape to seal all the seams. You are then good to go.
