Depending on how much work you want to do you could also ditch the screen top altogether and build a custom lid. Doesn't help much right this second,, but it would be easy to cut a piece of plywood and make cutouts for the light and what not, then just seal it with polycrylic and your good. I've even done adjustable venting before, so don't limit yourself to what you can get from the petstore.
