Yeah, he's a normal. He could be a het, but it is very unlikely and you could only find out if you breed him out. I will say that you probably saved him from what was apparently a very neglectful home. Probably saved his life. Good for you! And a lovely boy! Have you had him sexed to make sure it is a boy?

Since November 16th he has shed every 2 to 3 weeks and put on a lot of weight. At last weigh in he was 932 grams. I am very pleased with his progress. I have been lazy about introducing him with the holidays and all.

HOLY. Sounds like he's partaking in Winter Bulking Season. Great job getting him back in shape! I'm sure he'll make an awesome addition to your collection. I have one normal female and four other morphs, but my normal definitely has the best personality.

For being a year old he was very small, around 400 grams when I first weighed him. He was very much in the middle of a shed when I got him. First things first, I put a temperature monitor in his tank. The 'hot side' ran in the low 80's and the cold side in the high 70s. About 3 days after I got him, I picked up a new 55 gallon aquarium for him. I set it up, put him on eco earth and got him a light that was strong enough to get his basking spot up to 92 and a second light to keep the cool side up to the low 80s. He is very active and loves exploring his tank in the late evenings. He eats a small rat every Thursday and by Monday he is already hunting for another meal.
And curled up under the good lights showing his colors.
