the thread has been dormant for several months, things have changed a bit.

different breeders now have them for sale. the ones i stumbled across are a female super bamboo for sale by BHB reptiles for 30000 dollars, and M&S reptilien (ms-reptilien.de , from Germany) has a male bamboo spider (bambee) for sale for 16900 euros. and thats just what i noticed, without looking too hard. give it one more year, and since its a codominant, things will pick up rather quickly, more hatchlings will become available, and prices will start going down. Noah from Ghana also continues to breed them and is taking the gene into multi-gene combos.

patience, they will become available, give it 1 or 2 more years and most of the big breeders with big wallets will have them.

They already do have them. There are way more Bamboos here than you may think.

The $20k was referenced to the Bamboo as they will likely fall the same path as the Banana and GHI in quick fashion. Both are in many hands for a few years now.

The Atomic OTOH is in far fewer hands than either of the above, and may note a $50K sticker depending on the market. The one reason the Atomic will stay up in value is that you have a breeder producing them who actually cares about the market, and will not cave in if they don't get their asking price just to make some money. I wish more people would follow that lead.

Well the banana is a different situation and doesn't really apply to the typical morphs. I've never seen the bamboo at 50k. Actually, they were cheaper a year ago and then went up in price and perhaps have dropped a little bit now. I have two of them. Also, Noah didn't let any of these in the US until 2013. I think Amir brought the first one in from Crystal Palace.

Matt never sold a GHI for 50k as far as I know either. I know someone bought one through someone else for around $30k but that's only because Matt wouldn't sell one to that person directly.

As soon as a morph gets into other people's hands it's out of the originator's control. The atomic is recessive; so, it will hold up better no matter who has it.

Note I am not trying to argue with you but I would like the numbers accurate. Price declines are just a natural part of the market. Just because the banana was weird due to it being around a lot longer than people knew, the weird sex thing, etc doesn't mean that every morph from here on out is going to decline 30k in one year. I don't know, maybe I'm just too positive or naive?
