    Re: health question urgent!

first of all i thank you for your advice and concerns. so to clarify this, i was to a regular vet who told me to use this anbitiocits that in my country is called fortum . in my country i dont have vets with reptile experience(so i dont know if i should trust them or not since they cant treat properly a dog,,,anyway). he told me to do the shots , so i came here to be sure i was doing the right thing.
i dont have any medical experience with reptiles . and ofc i made the right dosage. dont judge so harsh people who want help . i just want to help my snake and find out how he got sick. and yes i dont know english at high level but i dont think that i write so poorly. this been said i will do my best to treat him and again i apreciate your concerns and help . i hope he will be ok soon. i will come with updates.

Aside from what the others said, the reason why you want to inject in the front 1/3 of the snake is because if you inject further back, the kidneys might flush the antibiotic out of the system before it has time to absorb into the body.

It's not just that. Some of the antibiotics can be toxic to the kidneys in more concentrated doses also.

I know the original poster's English is not perfect, so I'll just add this. In reptiles, the circulatory system is set up so that blood from the heart flows through the kidneys on the way to the back part of the body, and has to flow through the kidneys again on the return trip. If you give the injection in the back half, the antibiotics would flow through the kidneys first before reaching the heart to be circulated throughout the body. In doing that, they could be filtered out or cause kidney damage. If you give the injection in the front third of the body, the antibiotics reach the heart first and can be recirculated, some returning to the front of the body, some to the back. The concentration that has to pass through the kidneys immediately is reduced, and you have a better chance of the antibiotics being more systemic and reaching everywhere they need to reach (since it's usually respiratory or oral issues in the front half of the body being addressed).
This is the simple way to think about it, anyway.
