    Feeding question

Oliver is now 4 months old, and seems to be doing really well. He's such a sweet little guy. He's eating 2 small mice every 5-7 days - sound right? Just checking.... Thanks! Pamela

That sounds good. Have you tried to move him to rats?

No, not yet.....maybe when he's a bit bigger. His jaw is as open as it can get with the mice now.

You could put him on rat weanling/pups. The earlier you start, the easier the switch.

His jaw can open a lot wider than you think it can. If the rat is as wide as Oliver at Oliver's widest part, the rat will fit down his mouth and through his neck even though it may not look like it will.

Like Monkee suggested, the earlier you switch the easier it is usually. Oliver can definitely eat rat pups. Depending on his weight and size, he may be able to do weaned rats as well.
