What iOS version are you on? If you have upgraded to iOS 7 then you should be able to change a few settings and get much better battery life. In my experience the Facebook app is one of the biggest battery killers. It constantly is using the phones antennas to pull down data even when you don't have the app running. these background updates can be disabled in the phones settings.

Do you actually turn off Wi-Fi or are you just not connected to it? If you leave Wi-Fi on all day when you aren't connected to a Wi-Fi network your phone will use up lots of power trying to find one. The same can be said for the cell service.

I have an iPhone 5 as well (black 32GB) I run the screens backlight at 60%, and have all app background updates disabled. I turn off Wi-Fi when I leave my house and in the rare case of not having cell signal will put my phone on airplane mode. I turn on bluetooth only when I have my phone connected to my car. On average I can go 2 days without charging my phone, though I don't use my phone as much as some people do.
Ohhh, i didnt know i should turn wifi off. Its probably sitting in my jacket all day at work searching for a signal or something. I'll do that from now on when i leave for work. I have auto dim on, i'll try turning down the brightness a bit more too.
