Haha yeah, sorry if I came out as mean and for your other question if it really gets low you could try putting his water bowl over the heat mat (or strip or whatever you've got) so it would condense the tank but I would not recomend it as it can get too humid and is uncontrollable, there are many ways (if you are really want you can spray it to mist it but that is usually only for lizards) but unless it gets desperate eco-earth should be fine

I use a blend of the two. Well, the coconut I use is small chunks, rather than shredded like Eco Earth, but it's roughly the same. The coir helps with humidity, and the cypress helps keep bacteria from growing.

I'm assuming this is your first snake, and you're feeding outside to prevent cage aggression, right?

If so, forget all of that. It's a myth. Since this is your first feeding, you REALLY don't want to stress her out any more than she is by handling her before and after she eats. Aside from the possibility of regurgitation after feeding, taking her out to feed somewhere else could cause her not to eat at all.

I've used the Eco Earth when I had mine in the tank... worked great
Until you get it switched over, mist the tank regularly

Yes this my first snake, I had a lizard for 10 years and it just passed so I bought a snake. So the first few times she should feed in the tank? Then later when shes more familiar I can feed her in a seprate bin?

I have my one and only snake in an aquarium and struggle with humidity. I've finally got it at a good level by soaking a towel in water every day and putting it on top of about 1/2 the screen top. I then cover the wet towel with a dry towel. I do this every morning. After 2 bad sheds, he finally had a successful shed. I use unprinted newspaper as substrate.

I also feed in his tank. Have not had any problem with cage aggression. When I remove him from the tank to handle him, I use a snake hook to rub his back to let him know it's time to come out. He's not struck at me ever.

I'll be honest, the ONLY halfway logical reasons I can think of to feed in a separate bin would be...

1. You clean the tank while she's eating.
2. You're extremely paranoid about her possibly ingesting substrate.

Even those can be better accomplished in other ways.
