    Maybe try feeding him at night with the night time bulb on..my one guy is shy. I fed both mine today. The one in the pic eats whatever whenever. My other guy,I have to turn the lights off and went and got a black light night bulb,it cause it keeps the tank dark and he seems to like that ore the red light bulb..I put a rat pup in this afternoon,day bulb on,rat pup was in there 30 mins,I know he knew but didn't come out. Waited again til it got dark,turned down lights in living room and turned on the night bulb put pup back in,10 mins he still didn't come out I watched the rat pup walk in his warm hide where he was. As soon as he walked in that hide,I heard squeaking. I just checked him out and has a full belly . So your guy may be shy.
