Never really works out.
When my mother found out I had spent £850 on a 900g female pied she nearly fainted.
She calmed down a little when I pointed out I had sold enough snakes to mean it wasn't coming out of my life savings ( current total zero).
Most of my friends spend three times as much on computer parts each year and there is no way they will be hugging them in 20 years time.

And in comparison to the US prices we look like we spend even more :p Very much worth it though!
