Maybe an example closer to our hobby, when pro exotics fire happened, did you say it doesn't really affect me, who gives a crap?

I can tell you I did not lose sleep over it, I have never had a personal conversation with the people involved. Being in the reptile hobby is as close to the event as I came, but I no doubt generally felt bad for what happened, the lives that were lost and also felt bad for the people who were affected by it. Just a little empathy.

I actually said "that sucks" and laughed a bit at the "what the **** Dwayne" shirts. Didn't donate, didn't fret. I guess I may have taken a closer look at my connections and heat tape and what not but no, I didn't linger any longer there than I have here.

At that point, I would have compassion. But, that's a scenario that really fits all the criteria I've gone over in this thread.

Its not like if I was there I'd just keep walking down the street. But, yeah, it didn't happen near me or to someone I personally know so I have plenty of other things to worry and be concerned over.

If you're directing this at me, I can quite assure you I need no satisfaction or approval from you, or anyone else, about how "hard" I am. If anything, I'm simply apathetic to the entire situation.
