I think they just shed as they need to, while they grow. Unless it's very consistent and not spaced out (in which case could be a skin irritation or problem, like mites).
If you've checked on that, then I'd say he's just growing quickly. If you think he's growing TOO fast, just slow down the feeding - add an extra day in between feedings, or wait to up the size for awhile. But I have heard from someone else that balls can gain anywhere from 50-100 grams a month as hatchlings. Mine hasn't gained that quickly, but that's okaythey are all different.
