new baby BP

So i just got a baby ball python about two days ago, and my roommate has handeed him now he strikes at me through the cage and when i try and touch him at all. hes just angry. The breeder i got him from saied he just ate a rat pup a couple days ago. Also another question is he has been eating rat pups for a while what would be the next step up? i think he is big enough for a new kindof food.

He is probably stressed from the new home and handling. I would let him be for about a week. See if he calms down.

I just got a butter pastel female that is about 225 grams, she was fine when I took her out of the bag, but 2 hours later she struck at me over and over. I have left her for about 2 days now letting her get used to her new home. she seems better but I wont push her.
best bet is to let the new bp settle in.

I try to leave new BP's alone for a week and then I attempt to feed. I did feed after 4 days with my new ones as it was feeding day for my others so I though I would try to feed them with them being young and not knowing when the seller had fed them last.

General rule of thumb is leave for a week with only water changes in that time, attempt a feed and if your BP does feed handle around 48 hours later. If your BP doesn't feed leave alone until the next scheduled feed etc etc until they are feeding for you. This is not a rule you have to follow it is more of a guideline which a few people do follow Handling too soon can cause stress and cause non-eating.

Snake is stressed ,leave it be for a week to 10 days,make sure the tank is fairly busy cluttered and not open with a lot of open space...he will be fine. Just don't annoy him
