Baby won't eat:/

I have a baby albino that isn't eating. I've tried to feed him twice in the past 14 days. He wraps it up for the kill immedietly, and then leaves it alone. Any suggestions???

How long have you had him. What's your set up like. What are you feeding him? Mice ,rats,frozen thawed? If FT how are yo defrosting it,what's the routine basically?

These are things you have to mention if you want help and things people are most likely going to ask you around,which all those things usually affect a snakes feeding response.

Well, I've been feeding live full size mice. I use a feeding box which none of my animals seem to have an issue with. I have them in a full size 3 tier rack from C Serpents, their warm spot is about 90-92 degrees, and the rest of the enclosure is a little over 80 degrees. I left him in a dark room for about 3 hours with the mouse he killed, and he finally ate it.

Eliminate the box and you should be good, the enclosure is a lot more comfortable for most specimens at feeding time.

That fear is illogical, think about wild Python regius? If you still wish to feed in a seperate enclosure then fine, as long as they eat but you can also expect a bit more cage aggression out of some individuals.

Maybe you could put down a paper plate in the enclosure before you're to offer the feeder to help against eating substrate (though some of mine whip around and drag their feeder all over the place so that's not fool proof) or a couple days/day before you're to feed put down paper towels or newspaper instead of your loose substrate then the day after feeding you can go back to the loose stuff (downside: more work and waste of bedding). I wouldn't worry about them eating some substrate though and just feed in their enclosure.

Feed in the enclosure. It's really not good to move them during feeding time, for you (possibly getting bit) and the snake... stress (possible regurg). Don't worry so much about ingestion... nobody makes a clean path for them in the wild . I'm sure they get some dirt, and lord knows what else caught up in their meal.

That's silly man,really is..what do you think happens in the wild when they make kills in the dirt in bushes or whatever..these animals have been around millions and millions of years,they will be fine. Not like he is eating a handful of it..I feed mine in there enclosures. Never any problems,ever.

idk about all this cage aggression. So far my guys are so sweet and mellow
