Thoughts on Repti Bark?

Reptibark is overrated and way over priced. Hapi-grow cypress mulch blend from Lowe's. It's like 3$ for two cubic feet of it. Some are skeptical about it, but I've had ZERO issues with it so far.

I mix reptibark with ecoearth in my gtp cage. I like the effect and the texture the mixture has. Ecoearth can get dusty but I have never had that problem with reptibark. I don't like it for my ball though. I use Forest Floor cypress mulch for her and my brb. It is good quality and holds moisture well. I have not had splinters and my snakes have not had issues on it.

I did have some mulch from Lowes one time and I found screws, plastic, and large sharp pieces mixed in. I didn't use it.

I've been using coco husk and it's been great. It's not too dusty and doesn't splinter. The husk also creates a "natural" looking terrarium. Anyone who is on the fence about using it, should definitely give it a try.

It's cheap because it's 10% cypress, at least 50% pine, and the rest is a mix of other hardwoods, which can include cedar and black walnut depending on what was being milled that week. I called the company that makes it and asked.

I've used Repti-Bark and found it dusty and expensive. The dust settles to the bottom of the enclosure.

I'm currently using cypress from Reptile Basics ($25 for 2 cu ft shipped) and am very pleased with how well it holds humidity, is soft, and not dusty.
