I quit for the final time probably 4 years ago now. I had smoked for about 20 years. 2...sometimes 3 packs a day.
I had to quit a couple of times.
Last time stuck.
There's two parts to quitting...breaking the nicotine addiction itself and breaking the habit. Everytime I got in the car I lit up. Everytime I got up in the morning, I lit up. Got home, lit up. 10AM, outside to light up. Finish eating...light a cig. etc etc.

First I had to break the habits. Those lozenges are what I used. A couple of days of those and i was craving those more than the cigarettes. It helped to break the habit. I didn't get in the car and reach for a cig. I didn't wake up and reach for my cigs.
I used the lozenges for a while...maybe 5 months. The smoking habits were gone, I just needed to break the physical addiction. That took one weekend. I didn't buy any lozenges, stayed in my apartment, watched TV and played games all weekend. That was probably 4 years ago now.
No cigarettes or nicotine of any kind since then. No cravings, no nothing. I can smell smoke on people now. No desire to go back to smoking.
