It does look pretty thick, I'm going to take some out and thin it out a little. It's Zoo Med Aspen Snake Bedding.
It's only been on four about an hour and a half, that may be it. It's a glass tank with a screen top and a sheet of plexiglass on top of the screen. The plexiglass has a hole in it for a heat lamp and smaller holes for air.
Your aspen needs to be pretty thin, no more than ½" thick.
