    You plug the uth power cord into the light dimmer then plug that into the outlet. You can control the output of the uth by dimming it until you get the proper temp

    ok, so is there a certain temp i would want the uth to be?

    Oh yes definitely... without something controlling the uth it can reach 130+ degrees which can burn your snake. You want to dim it down so it reads 90 on your hot spot. A thermostat is definitely better but the dimmer will do until you can get one

    I use the Zilla temp controller, like $30 at Petco.
    Amazon has a Hydrofarm thermostat for $40.
    Then there are the more expensive ones... Herpstat is great.
