i would not rely on a possible sperm retention if you have a different nice male ready. it would really suck if the follicles get re-absorbed or when you get a clutch of slugs.
you dont know if sperm has been retained or not, not for sure anyway. better do the pairing, and you might still get lucky and get a multi-sire clutch.
