OP, I'd recommend cypress mulch as a substrate. It's cleaner than coco (as in, it doesn't stick to EVERY single thing lol) and it has a great look while holding humidity wonderfully IMO. You very well may need a heat lamp, I know I do at times. I have a ceramic heat emitter, it works well to keep up my ambient times. I only use it when my room temps are low though.
