You are so right about that.

I don't have a picture of my pastel as a baby as I got her as an adult.

But here are pictures of her 3 babies that show 3 different levels of yellow:

As you can see, the first baby is more yellow than the 2nd baby. The 2nd baby is a bit orangey. The 3rd baby is a normal with really cool highlights.

Yes, these are bumblebees, not pastels, but this is the same idea with the pastels because bumblebees do brown out as well as they get older.

I don't have a picture currently of these guys as adults. I don't have the 1st baby anymore as I adopted her out to a breeder. I think she's an awesome example of the bumblebee morph and I think she would be a perfect one to breed. I have no plans to be a breeder. This one time was my idea of "getting more pets" without spending too much money. I'm going to see if I can get an adult picture of her (I'm also curious how she looks now). I'll take pictures of the other 2 when my kids get home.

Pastels are amazing at birth most of the time but they really brown out over time.. Mine was bright like the one pictured above and is actually DARKER than that now, except right after shed. I'd post a pic but I can't give him justice. he'd look like I sprayed spray paint in him. Still, pastels are a good morph and have given us so many combos over the years. And my favorite with are pewters.
