    Re: 55 gal too much?

Recently, i joined this forum to get some help setting everything up for my first snake and have been receiving much help on how to set it up but also some criticism on the size of the tank. some people have said that 55 gallons is too much to properly regulate the temperature/humidity in it. Then some other people disagreed with it and have said they have been fine with larger tanks like the one i have.

My plans for the tank are to have a CHE and a UTH to maintain the temperature, a relatively large water dish and i'm planning on covering a large section of the screen with tin foil to keep the moisture trapped in the tank. I am planning on setting everything up and running the equipment for a few days and making sure i can keep everything right before I even obtain the snake but am i setting myself up for failure or is it possible to have a snake in that large of a tank with proper preparation? please help. thank you.

Make sure you clean the heck out of it prior to introducing your snake to eliminate potential illnesses and mites!
