Hello everyone. Last night I fed my BP and everything seemed to be going normally. She struck, constricted, and then began smelling the rat (it was a f/t so it was prekilled) for about 30 minutes before she finally ate it. I was aboug 6ft away watching tv so I could keep an distant eye on her. I noticed that she would every once in a while open her mouth about a half inch or so during her pacing/smelling. I thought that was a bit strange but didn't think much of it. I got up and went over to her when I saw she had almost finished swallowing the rat. Thats when I noticed about 20-40 little 1 inch long blood streaks all over the newspaper substrate and even a blood mark or two on the glass cage. This has happened once before about 2-3 months ago when I fed her a live rat. When it happened that time, I assumed she had gotten bitten and was bleeding from inside her mouth or something. I thought that because when she struck the live rat that time, the rat's mouth was half inside hers and have outside. When I noticed the blood streaks that time, I took the rat away and checked inside her mouth but found nothing. However this time, like I said, the rat was a f/t so I know she didn't get bitten. I also know that it is not the rat's What do you think is happening? Is it possible she bit her tongue? Should I be worried about this?
