Rescued boa need help.

So I rescued a boa that is in horrible condition, it has multiple stuck sheds on it and one of its eyes is completely white. Just need some help with this, how often do you feed a boa? And is there anything I can put on him to help get the shed off? I'm soaking him then putting in a pillow case... Any help would be great!

Just to add, he is 1.5 years old and ways I'm guessing 300 grams at the most and has the girth of 2 baby hatchlings...

You can feed him once a week am appropriate sized prey item. Something about as big as the girth of the snake.

Regular soaking is basically what you can do to try and get the shed off. I have sometimes seen items for sale tht are supposed to help stuck shed. Never buy them. Water works jut the same.

Try soaking a couple times a day and work at the shed. You don't wanna over do soaking too often because that can just lead to other problems.

It can be a slow process.

If the shed is as bad as it sounds it might not eat right now just to give you a heads up.

we worked at the shed and got alot of it off, still has some left on him, he just ate yesterday even with te amount of shed stuff on him... Ill try to upload pics tomorrow out him back in his enclosure for the night don't want to bbugging for te rest if the night but ill be sure to upload pics tomorrow of his eye and what not, the person we got it off had not cleaned the tank for atleast 4 months I would say, there was so much poo and shed on the paper towel it was awful...

As for soaking him how much is over doing it? I don't want to cause scale for or anything. And the pillow case method did not work so we rubbed some of it off.

In all honesty, I'd get as much as I could off an wait for his next shed.

If it was mine I would only soak once or twice a day and for maybe 20-30 minutes.

Pillow case can but won't always work. Sometimes you gotta do it yourself.

Is the eye thing a stuck eye cap or is it something else? I assume its just a cap because of its already having shed problems.

Yeah if it is a stuck eye cap you probably don't wanna do it yourself unless you got experience with that sorta thing. It can be easy to mess up the eye if you don't know what you are doing.

If this is only one stuck shed I would probably wait and hope it came off with the next shed. If it is already multiple layers of stuck shed you might wanna do something about it before then.

It does happen to be multiple layers, his eye is pure white, I'm almost think he might just be blind in that one eye or there is just 3 eye caps stuck on there... Ill take some pics tomorrow and show you guys what I mean.

And once you get most of it off, don't worry if there is some left that stays put. It shouldn't bother him. Once he starts getting rehydrated and eating more regularly, he'll probably shed a few times for you more frequently. I would keep his enclosure humid for a few weeks to help with the shed and his next shed (like around 70% humidity).

At his size, feed one appropriate sized prey every 7-10 days - no more. And the prey should be no bigger around than the snake. Boas are not ball pythons and do better on slightly smaller and less frequent meals, relatively speaking.

Do get a couple pics of his eye and we'll go from there.
