My first experience with mites was a tough little battle because she had a bunch on her and I had to treat for like a week or two to get rid of them all. But my second mite encounter was 5 years later and was a very mild case. She only had a couple on her and I went through and gently rubbed them off. The mites I usually see are always bright red when they are on the snakes body so they are easy to spot under the scales. So after picking of about 7 or 8 little red mites I cleaned everything in the tank and let everything soak in bleach water for 30 minutes to an hour, filled the tank up the brim with water. Then dumped it all out outside and rinsed it really really good. With Eva I let her soak for a bit in some prevent a mite and then soaked her in some liquid iodine solution diluted with water as an antiseptic to treat the bites she had gotten. And after that one day of intense cleaning I haven't seen another mite. Successfully exterminated in a day
