Condensation after 40 days.
This year I tried the substrateless method and all seems to be working great. 6qt sterilite with vermiculite, no press and seal.
I just have a question regarding condensation forming on the lids after day 40. Do I have to be concerned about the condensation forming on the lids dripping on the eggs?

Wipe down the lid and exchange the air every 4-5 days at that point until they hatch

Vermiculite is a substrate!

Condensation after 40 days.
Wipe down the lids and allow for airflow.
There's nothing wrong with vermiculite, as it's what I used as well.

Meaning the eggs are not in direct contact with the substrate, it's call the substrate less method. It does seem a little contradicting I know haha

I've always used vermiculite without any problems, this year I used the egg crate and used more water then normal, obviously leading to more condensation. I was curious if drops on the eggs after day 40 is a problem compared to say day 15, which can ruin eggs.

As long as it doesn't have fertilizer you're fine I use perlite in my substrateless tubs only because it's really hard to find verm without fertilizer around here.
The drops shouldn't be a problem unless they are actually dripping. If I see condensation I take the lid off, tap it on something, and put it back on.

Just tilt the bin slightly so the water will run down the lid and drop down the side, like others have said refresh the air every now and then.

Tilt the tub a little bit and then wipe down every 3-4 days. Shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Condensation after 40 days.
Just take the lid off every few days and wipe it off.
