    Temperatures question

I know this has probably been answered, but...

I'm probably just worrying too much. My tank is set up like this: 20 gal, on one side there is a hide and a water bowl that is positioned over a uth. There's a heat lamp over the tank, and the hot spot sits at 88-90 degrees. On the cool side, there's a smaller hide and a tree branch/vine thing...it sits at 78-80. The tank is covered with aluminum foil and a damp towel on the cool side to keep humidity up. The tank is also draped on 3 sides by a towel so that she feels more secure.

She stays on the cool side... all the time. I guess maybe she just likes it?? She also doesn't really use either of her hides. She sits behind the one on the cool side, and rests her head on top of it (which I think is pretty darn cute lol).

I wouldn't worry about it. I have some snakes that prefer the cool side, and some that always lay on the heat. Your temps sound perfectly fine. If you are sure that your thermometers are accurate than nothing to worry about!

As for the hide usage... how long have you had her? Sometimes it just takes a while for them to decide they feel safe in the hide.

Well, I just got her this past Friday. So, she's still getting settled. The only time I saw her really utilize her entire tank was when feeding night came. I put the mouse near her tank, and within 5 minutes, she was going crazy. Lol

I feel better now, though, that she probably just prefers that side.
