This is why it's a good idea to state your terms clearly up front. You should make it right because mistakes do happen, but how far should we be expected to bend over backwards. Having a time limit prevents customers from scamming you, too. How do you know 2-3 years later that it's even the same snake? And it prevents the unreasonable requests like refund plus lost revenue that I've seen people come back with. Customer service is all important but customers have to act reasonably too.

    This

Of course I encourage people to sex their animal upon arrival this way if a mistake is made it can be corrected immediately, however as Ed said, sex won't change whether it is 6 month or 2 years down the road and therefore the mistake should be corrected regardless of the time frame that went by.

For those that think after 2 years it's unreasonable to expect compensation, if hets don't prove after 2 or 3 years YOU or anyone would expect compensation right? Well sex is the same thing.

Yea Deborah, but how would you know it's the same snake? That would be my only concern.

You take pictures before you sell. Patterns don't change either.

When people buy from me they get a certificate of origin containing a picture of the animal being sold (it's mainly to help my customer when they wish to re-sell their animal, future buyer may want to know where the snake comes from)

This certificate is on a CD along with several other pictures (to which they get full copyright) and I keep a folder for each of my customers with picture of the animal(s) they bought. (Helps identify the snake and if you buy a snake from someone that tells you he bought it from me I can verify that as well with the lineage)

That's awesome. Can you show me some kind of example so that way I can do it if I ever decide to start breeding to sell?

my 2 cents .. once u get the animal it should be sexed unless u want to wait to it settles in about a week .. if u dont know how to sex animals u should learn .. if u are breeding or trying to breed for fun or to try and make a buck and u dont know how to sex the animal i suggest u stop and learn a thing or 2 b4 u try again .. it is not hard to pop it just takes pratice i do not probe personally but im sure thats not hard to learn either ..
