#1) I was not planning any mods for the vehicle...since they cost money and with 201hp it's they are not really needed.
#2) I go through Allstate for my insurance because with them I can get a "chip" to keep track of my driving and get 10% off a month if I don't brake excessively and keep it under 80.
I am actually kinda offeneded that people think I want to do nothing but speed around in it, I truly don't do over 70mph on the highway and am one of the only ones I know that actually do the speed limit.
Mike - I have looked at subaru's I really really like the legacy's, but I have yet to find one with lower miles for less than a small fortune. Trust me I would really like the AWD in the winter. Especially with the baby.
I still love love the xB's and after reading this they are still on the table, I might take you up on that offer to drive it Toyota89 (Sorry I forgot your actual name ) I will see if I can make it to the Corning show and the cook out.
Like I said I have a while to look and decide, plus I have not driven any of the cars mentioned so I may not even like the feel of the civic.
I hope this straightens things up a little and I appreciate all the comments, especially from Mike, Toyota, DooLittle, and Nicole.
Pretty sure in the OP you said you were thinking about getting an Xb but you said you didn't think you'd be happy with something that doesn't have power? Jes sayin. So I feel like that's how we got on that topic, you showed interest in power

Good i'm glad you were offended, I wanted to make sure I stirred you up a bit to get you rethinking everything because doing what you said would be a mistake imo.
You say you're looking to save money by getting smaller monthly payments but you're looking at a $24K car... You do realize that means you're looking at like a $400-500 payment and probably $200+ insurance per month. If you even get approved and if you put like $4K down. You're gunna be needing that money for baby crap bc babies aren't cheap. Seriously, ask people with kids how much stuff costs and add it all up.
The reason i assumed you wanted something to play with was bc you didnt even mention most of the things i did in your OP. You just talked about all the engine stuff and crap.

No way a 400-500 dollar payment, and someone said get something used? Well you get a better interest rate when you buy brand new also you can write off the deprecation value.

$24K car. After taxes and fees round it to $26K even. Minus the $4K he's putting down.
$22K/48months= $458.33/month plus whatever they charge you for interest. 5%=$481.25/month
10%= $504.16/month
$22K/60months= $366.66/month plus interest
5%= $384.99/month
10%= $403.33/month
Someone correct me if i'm wrong...

From personal experience in the passenger seat, the SI's are pretty sporty IMHO. Lol

Thanks Mike for the stirring, you always seem to get me to think clearly. Hence part of the reason I have you as a friend....because your money savey haha. I'm just going to chill driving Angela's car for a while, as small and cramped as it is I really need to save. I did just start fixing up my BMW again which just needs some body work and paint, plus some new bushings for the tranny which my dad who is a mechanic can do all from home for nothing or next to nothing. I figure I will drive that next summer to work (It was a 5 seater car, but we yanked the rear seats for weight reduction, however I may put them back in so I can have the baby with me if need be.).
I actually really like the idea that it's paid for and I won't have a monthly payment on it other than insurance which should not be too outragious since it's a 1976. And a non "sports" car....even though it's got a fully built motor Lol.

Leave the seats out. Baby goes in trunk over drive wheels. Got to have proper weight distribution, you know...
