Starting in clowns

So I have a couple of ball pythons already, (1.0 killerbee .2 pastel .1 fire .1 lesser) and I have decided I really want to start getting into clowns. My question is what would you recommend I start with? I am leaning towards a package deal with a 1.0 pastel het clown and a .1 clown package deal. But should I start with just het females and pastel het females and get a visual later? I really WANT a clown in my collection, and dont really want to wait another 3 years for the hets to grow and then buy the visual to breed with the hets. What do you think?

I would definitelly go with visual females and got het males or if you can afford visual combo males .

No way. I would go the other way around. Males are cheaper. Get a visual male with a second gene then you can breed more females and get 100% hets (easier and better to sell) and then get a couple larger het females. More genes for your money and breeding faster for less money

if you buy a male clown and breed it to your females. you would have some nice combos with everything being het for clown. plus a visual clown in your collection.

Two ideas pop into my head: Get a male clown now and pair him to the morph females you already have to make your own hets. Buy some morph het females now or at some point to pair to him when they're ready.

*Or*

Get a female clown and maybe a female morph het or two, and then get a male clown in a couple years when they're closer to breeding.

i to am going to be getting some clown this is what im doing two het clown females this year and next year i am getting a solid reduced clown male the only reason im not getting a pastel clown male( which i think you should get ) is because i like my line of pastel they have very little browning and hopefully my pastel to fire pairing will give me a female firefly to pair him with

Is it "your" line or did you buy it?

Cause if you bought it technically its not your line. And in that case why dont you just find a nice pastel clown male and save yourself a lot of work.

kind of both i started with a good male and through selective breeding to normals and even real light single gene females keeping only the best of the clutches they got even better i mean im not going to advertise as a new line because they are not they are just selectively bred plus that was the reason for me to do all the work to make a nicer pastel to put into other morphs if i look for a pastel clown male he looks good the parents look good there is still the chance he and his offspring will brown out i dont want to take that chance i want the best in my colection i already have a great pastel group so why wouldnt i use them plus a firefly clown amazing

So what do you guys think the fair market value is for male and female clowns respectively? How about pastel het clown females? Thanks for the responses!
