Weak Feeding response

I'd offer him small live rats. I would have offered him small live rats months ago actually.

I appreciate the response, but may I ask why your go to method would be a live rat? Not many people advise to feed live rats in general, but I'm especially curious why you would suggest to feed a live rat to a snake with such a week feeding response who is currently not even reacting to the scent of a rat...even minimal reaction to the scent of a mouse.
