Sounds like he's doing ok. Let us know how he feeds. If he eats well, I think he's fine.

That's good news. Remember, Dumeril's "pee" a lot more than most other snakes. My male makes a mess of his hide boxes all the time.....like miniature tan colored cow pies lol.

Yay! Glad to see he pooped. So no more bloating?
Don't worry about price. I got a 2011 female for 70$ and a 2012 female for 40$. The 40$ is very light and peachy colored too. Both were in perfect health, but both were fed live. It was a pain to switch them to ft.
Personally... my dumerils are greedy and will only eat HUGE rats only. Forget small sized rats. Forget any size mouse. Haha picky.

I don't remember if you've said yet, but how long have you had him?? It took my baby Dum a month to eat for me. They can be hard to get started, but once they do, they are terrific feeders. But be patient. Suki was a pain in the butt for me.

One thing that's been mentioned and I found worked for me, was offering a larger prey size. Dums frown on things too small..... LoL!

Yes, try a rat. Sometimes it really does make a difference. My Dum refused rats but took the mouse when I finally offered it to her as a last resort. Maybe yours will do the same but opposite....
