    Took Bo Outside..

I'm a little confused. On "Boa" forums and websites a hypo (obviously short for "hypomelanistic") refers to the lack or reduction of black skin pigment.

So because there is some black there at all it means its not a hypo?

Because I have a EBV Red Group(one of the first 2 bloodlines) Hypo Pastel BCI boa. He has some black on him and not just speckling.

I think coming from EBV it would undoubtably be correctly labeled in accordance with its breeding.

    Whats abouts thats?

I can see how the bow tie saddles could have been misleading, but I also say too much black to be a hypo. Here's my girl to compare:

He's cute in his smooshy-faced-ness though!

I'll need to keep an eye out for the vendor when we go to the expo: I don't recall remembering them last year or the year before.

Oh no, sorry that I wasn't more clear. I said speckling is fine. A certain amount of black is fine. Just that theirs clearly has too much. If you notice around the tail saddles it's very thick. Many many hypos have black and some have a lot. It's almost always "speckling" though. But that one has too much.

When you combine other morphs/locality it can add even more black that's for sure. Take hypo leopard boas for example. Tons of black, but when you look at it you still know it's a hypo

I might yea, but I mean its not an uber huge deal but I will probably bring it up because thats odd that he would sell something as one thing and it not be that

I only payed 100$ for him I dont think thats too terrible, even if he isnt a hypo. What is he? Just a normal? He seems awfully light

Yea the difference is clear even without looking at saddles, he does have quite a lot of black.. He was there the last 2 years, usually set up in the front on the far left .

Oh and I cannot wait until he is as big as your girl, then his head will be extra mooshable! She is gorgeous btw

I'm really not sure what he could be. He is very very light and gorgeous. Maybe someone with more boa experience will chime in. If he's just a normal, he is a top quality one!

Maybe he could be a pastel? I don't know much about the pastel Colombian morph though, just throwing it out there. If he's a normal he's super nice.

Here's my same girl when she was a little more wee, looking about the same size as your cute guy in his younger pics:

My first thought looking at him was some type of pastel, but didn't want to throw that out there because I was really unsure. I was thinking that because he's so light, and nice and clean. I don't know where the pinched saddles are coming from though. He's unlike any pastel I've seen
