I manage to keep the humidity at 80% in a 40 breeder for an adult BRB who is in QT; I have a more appropriate enclosure available for his permanent home but it's not very portable so it sits empty in the herp room. Here's how I do it:
- House ambient temperature at 77*F; any lower and my A/C dries out the air in the house so much it's almost impossible to maintain humidity in the snake enclosures.
- No light or CHE.
- UTH set at 85*F on his hot spot.
- Very shallow and large diameter water dish that sits on half the UTH, the warm side hide sits on the other half. For this the heavy crock dishes are better than the cheap plastic ones as the snake won't push it off the UTH.
- Cover the mesh top with Glad Press N Seal with the opposite corners slightly turned up for ventilation.
- Mist morning and evening.
