The wound may be dried up but the tissue looks necrotic.
It HAS to be amputated.

Re: Rainbow boa wound
I can tell you from experience that amputation is not cheap. When I first got my skink it turned out he had a bone infection in all four feet and 3 legs. Between the surgery and medicine (I had to give daily shots) it cost nearly 1000.00. Don't get me wrong i love my (now) legless lizard, but I didn't know about the infection before he was on my door step.. I would stay away from this one unless your willing to put in the time and money to get him better.

IF the seller were willing to give her to me I wouldn't even take her home, she would go straight to the vet for treatment, but I'm fortunate to have two excellent reptile vets in my area, one of which is a 24/7 facility. I also wouldn't plan on breeding her this year, maybe next year, and if her injury made her unfit for breeding I would give her away as a pet to someone I trust.
For breeding you need to be very discriminating about the health of the animals you bring home, and that's doubly true if you don't have a good vet available.

Re: Rainbow boa wound
That's a RESCUE not a purchase and that one is gonna cost you money.
Now the question is, are you in such a hurry to breed that you would be willing to pay for an animal in bad condition?
How about buying a healthy animal instead, even if that mean raising it up?
Also given the condition and lack of care since the beginning of the issue are you even sure that you are getting a female, and what other problems will you discover, this is the one you see there might be others?
Food for the thoughts.

God how can anyone let a poor animal get injured like that????
That being said, I'm with the others, do not buy her unless you have a vet to take her to and money to pay for immediate surgery to have that dead part removed. This snake would suffer so much if you were to breed her (if it is a her) in this condition and may not make it to birth....if you cannot afford the time/money to get this poor baby healthy, then you need to buy one you know is already healthy, even if that means raising it up before it can breed!!!
