most of my pictures of them outside they don't escape. you do afterall have an eye on them the entire time. but they seem not move so much if you place them on a branch outside. I don't really have any back drops or setups inside. So I can't really advise you on that. But if it's a nice day outside I don't see the harm in trying and seeing if you can take a couple pics of them in the grass or trees in natural sunlight
