    Ball python over aggressive

Hello guys, so I have a ball python that has suddenly become aggressive, I feed it in a feeding bin not his home. I just went to feed him put him in the bin for maybe 5 mins got the mouse and came back. I then took the lid off the bin and he tryed to bite me with no thinking just struck at my chest. I then dropped the mouse in there and he basically hit it in mid air as I was lowering it. I have started to feed him more often trying toget some wait on him (feeding every 5 days). He went from a snake that liked his chin rubbed to a man killing 650 gram bp lol. Just curios as too why he has gained so much of a temper in the last 2 months.

Feed him in his enclosure, also he smelt the mouse and the mouse on you. Feeding in a separate tub is myth about aggression if anything it increases your chance of getting bit. Me and another person just talked about this to some one else in a different post.

I don't think he's aggressive I think he was just hungry like I said. That big I would try to switch him to a small rat.

I live in Alberta Canada, rats have been banned here for like 52 years or something like that and he only eats live, so I feed him 2-3 adult mice every 5 days

Just to add on up there^ he has bit me twice and when I was grabbing him out of the bin he struck at my hand on the side if the bin so I don't know what is up with him lol, don't get me wrong i love his feeding response as he hits the mouse like its his worst enemy. I'm going to try and switch him to frozen thawed.

    Ball python over aggressive

    Feed him in his enclosure!

By removing him, and putting him in another container, you're stressing him out. Also, if I was to come near my snakes smelling like mice, I'd get tagged too! And have >_>

Once he's done with his mice, he's still in feeding mode, so that's why he's attacking you when you try to pick him up.

    Cage aggression is a myth.

Im not afraid of getting bit from him thinking my hand is food, I use paper towel and don't want to clean it after he it's lol cause then I'm likely to get bit, I have been feeding him in this bin for maybe 2 and a half mo the and since I started feeding him every 5 days he is a man eating machine. Ill feed him in his tank next a feeding and see what happens.
